Effect of anti-TP0136 antibodies on the progression of lesions in an infected rabbit model.

TP0136 anti-syphilis antibodies in development are poorly understood. This study aimed to determine the effect of anti-TP0136 antibodies on lesion development in infected rabbit models. rTP0136 intramuscular injection into rabbits in the immunized group (n = 4) induce high titers of anti TP0136-antibody, and rabbit then challenged with 105T. pallidum per site along their back. lesion development was observed, and the injection sites were biopsied for tp0574 mRNA and histological analysis every week until the wound is healed. Rabbits in the control group were injected with normal saline instead rTP0136. Decent T. pallidum in rabbits challenged assessed by a test rabbit infectivity.

Lesions in the immunized group took longer to heal than in the control group (42 d vs 28 d, P <0.001) and had a real level higher than the number of cellular infiltrates. MRNA levels of tp0574 the immunized group was significantly higher than in the control group (P <0.05). Decent T. pallidum detected in the lymph nodes of rabbits in both groups were immunized and control. Our study shows that a high titer antibody anti TP0136-promoted infiltration of inflammatory cells into the local lesions and tissue damage intensive, thereby delaying wound healing, and does not have a protective effect on the occurrence of syphilis in a rabbit model.
